Bukit Panorama is a hill located in Sugnei Lembing, 45km northwest of Kuantan. Although it is only approximately 271 meters tall, the summit offers a panorama view of the area. On weekends, the locals climb Sugnei Lembing before dawn to catch the sunrise at the summit.
To get to Sungai Lembing by public transportation, you will first need to get to Kuantan bus terminal which is well connected to the other cities.
At a nearby bus stop of Kuantan bus terminal, a local bus 48 will pass by Sungai Lembing. The bus stop at Sungai Lembing to board bus 48 is at the only petrol station. The frequency and timing of the bus is currently not known.
Alternatively, you can also get a taxi to drive you to Sugnei Lembing from Kuantan bus terminal. It may cost approximately RM60 a trip.
At Sugnei Lembing town, locate Hainan & Khek Associates. Opposite Hainan & Khek Associates, there is a road between Country View Inn and a food centre. Walk on the road passing by a school on your right till the end. At the end, turn left and you will see a flight of stairs. The trail starts at the flight of stairs.
The trail is very straight forward. Start at the flight of stairs and continue going up. When you reach the end, you are at the top of Bukit Panorama. Turn right to go onto the path to get your unobstructed view of the area. The trail is mainly staircase with railing, only a small sections are without staircase. There are approximately 1,000 steps to the top. There are a few resting huts enroute to take a break when you get out of breath.
It takes approximately 30mins (or less) for a reasonable fit person to walk up Bukit Panorama. Approximately 45mins for someone less fit depending on how much rest time you take.
